Badges of Fury (2013)

Badges of Fury is a Hong Kong action-comedy directed by Wong Tsz-ming, featuring Jet Li and Wen Zhang as an odd-couple police duo investigating a string of bizarre murders in the entertainment industry. The victims all die with a mysterious smile, and the trail leads to a rising starlet with a suspicious number of ex-boyfriends. The film is fast-paced, slapstick, and self-aware, filled with over-the-top fight scenes, visual gags, and cameos from Hong Kong cinema stars. Jet Li plays a more laid-back supporting role, often poking fun at his own action-hero image, while Wen Zhang handles the bulk of the comedic work. It’s not meant to be taken seriously—Badges of Fury is more of a parody of crime thrillers and martial arts films, blending genre tropes with exaggerated humor. While the plot is thin and chaotic at times, it delivers fun for fans of action-comedy with a wink.
